I have been involved in wildlife filmmaking for more than fifteen years. I began my career at the world-famous BBC Natural History Unit in Bristol, where I worked on a range of productions including Wildlife on One, The Natural World, Incredible Journeys, The Greatest Wildlife Show on Earth and Wild New World.
I left the BBC in 2006 after producing two programmes for David Attenborough’s award-winning Life in the Undergrowth series. I now work as a freelance producer and writer.
One of the joys of being a wildlife filmmaker is the challenge of filming different animals with each new project – animals as varied as great white sharks, matabele ants, moose, and pygmy kingfishers.
Favourite moments in my career include being surrounded by 50 million Monarch butterflies overwintering in a Mexican forest, and being nudged by a large female grizzly bear on Admiralty Island in Alaska.
I now divide my time between producing wildlife documentaries and screenwriting.
